Een zilt bier

I have always liked to drink beers that are not traditional, to discover new flavors and today after a visit to the Snijders&Rockkoxhuis museum, we have decided to visit some places in the city in Antwerp to see what can we discover. I have tasted the first beer in the Efde Gebod bar.  I feel that many eyes are looking at me, and they want to tell me something. I decide to order a Seef beer. Waaau is a very interesting beer! IBU: 17, Alc Vol:  6.5 %, Belgium Beer., a cloudy beer, with a flavor of a long fermentation. In the week I will take the tour to the factory.

I have taken my bike to go to our next destination, so in a few minutes I have arrived in "het Groen Kwartier" to the bar Speciale Belge Taproom. , Here we have spoken with one of the people in charge of the business for a long time and after showing us the wide variety of beers, he has recommended us the Beer  Cuvée Mam'zelle made by the brewery De Leite....OOOHHI, t's a fabulous salty beer, it's like oysters had been dipped into the beer. OOOH my God. IBU: 43, Alc Vol:  8.5 %, Belgium Beer. smooth, salty a very fine beer. A Beer Style: Sour - Wild Beer - Flavored.

I already interpreted what those eyes wanted to tell me, "Jesus you are thirsty"

Theo, The Friend I Hardly Knew

It was 4 degrees, cloudy with timely tears from the heavens; a pristine Belgian winter afternoon. I decided to seek shelter at my favourite refuge, Special Belge. It was there that I had the joy of meeting a truly unique individual from Alvinne. Her name was Theo.

Theo wasn't like other blonds. For starters, she had a masculine name, but flowed with all the grace of a refined woman. Despite having all the qualities of nobility her character would be best described as "unfiltered" and she often kept her head in the clouds for long periods of time.

The more I conversed with Theo, the more confused I became. She was raised on a Belgian farm and was intimate with the sweat of her brow and the satisfaction of a hard day's work. Theo was quite the paradox indeed.

She glowed with the radiance befitting an amber jewel and when she spoke her sweet words were often barbed with bitter undertones. She was not transparent in speech nor character. The conversation became complex and it soon became difficult to differentiate the truth from my own biases.

I thought Theo and I could spend the whole afternoon in idol chatter together, but unfortunately she disappeared as quickly as she was poured. Yes, Theo was unlike any beer I had tasted before and she shall be dearly missed.

Name: Theo - from Alvinne

Type: imperial Farmhouse Saison

Form: available on tap

Taste: rich, malty, caramel, hoppy

Color: gold to light brown

Bitterness: moderate bitterness

Alcohol: 9% (she's a strong one)

Yeast: Alvinne uses there own special yeast called Morpheus. Most of the character from the beer is due to this yeast.

Carbonation: moderate rising bubbles, with a thick foam

Mouthfeel: full, round, and dry

Rating: 4/5

I will drink Theo again with pleasure.
